The process - sponsoring made easy!
Once you have decided to sponsor a child with Heal, the procedure is very simple.
Firstly, follow the instructions on the Sponsor A Child Request Form on this website. There are two options for making the payments:
Option 1
If you would like to set up a standing order with your bank then there is a form which can be printed off from this page. This needs filling in as per the instructions and sending to our sponsorship secretary.
Option 2
Alternatively, you can set things up immediately by completing the fields on the Sponsor a Child Request Page and then setting up a repeat payment facility with a credit card and our secretary (Jenny Smith) will then contact you within a few days to make the arrangements.
She will also contact The Heal India sponsorship secretary Mrs Vijayalakshmi in Guntur via e-mail.
Vijaya will then select a child.
She will send a photograph and short profile of the child allocated, plus a “write up” of the village to you the sponsor.
The children love receiving mail, we encourage the sponsor to write to the child who will in turn respond, not all the children are able to write in English yet, but their letters are translated into English where necessary by a housemother or Vijaya.
Once a year each sponsor receives an update of the progress of the child plus an up to date photograph.
Sponsors are also very welcome at the village.
Should a sponsor wish to discontinue the sponsorship at any time, the child will still live in the village, and may be sponsored by another sponsor.
