There are so many people to thank for their assistance in Cycle India 2008:
The cyclists:
Martin Church and Lindsay Church – thanks for bringing the silly shorts along
John Goldie – made friends with all the local children!
Ian Fulton & Terry Fulton – fantastic fundraising effort, and your report is a great read
Debra Martin & Marion Austin – kept us all entertained throughout!
Susan Church – thanks for taking part and great endurance
Nimesh Ruparellia – kept cycling even with a badly swollen ankle
Graham Dean & Janet Dean – also brought the silly cycle shorts – very entertaining!
Mario D'Andrea – one of Heal’s trustees and enjoyed the event.
Debra Arthur & Brenda Willson – didn’t know the rest of the bunch, but fit straight in!
Pat Barnes – didn’t know anybody else in the party, and was very brave to join us!
Dr Mike Henchy – thanks for the exercise routines – invaluable!
Tim Knighton – kept us entertained with quick sense of humour
Matthew Glover – stressed out throughout, but had a great time.
Dr Prasad – our founder, and surprisingly fit!
Dr Usha Koneru – quietly went about the cycling and offering support.
Srinivas Gummadi – joined for the cycling, but cheated with a racing bike!
Adhvaith Bongu – completely chilled out throughout
We were also joined by various Indian cyclists and we would particularly like to thank Anita and Haritha for all the cultural knowledge you shared with us, and Nitin for enthusiastically filming the entire event (we look forward to seeing your forthcoming documentary).
Dr Ragu Sarvepalli - joined us on the final day of cycling and for helping raise funds in the US.
Non Cyclists
Carl Brodie - our Chairman, enjoyed the event despite being under the weather
Kirsty Brodie – came along for the ride, then stayed at the Children’s Village for a month
Elspeth D'Andrea – was there as support for all the riders.
Fabio D'Andrea – always seemed to be in the right place with his camera and camcorder
Verina Henchy – trustee of Heal UK - helped out with homeopathic remedies.
Alison Glover – realised that cyclists were having so much fun, decided to take part!
Jessica McEwan – Joined up at the last minute, and enjoyed the curries!
Andrew Bean – worked tirelessly on filming everything!
Nagarjuna Hospital – organisers of the cycling part.
Without the assistance of the staff of the Nagarjuna Hospital in Vijayawada then Cycle India could not have been such a success. The team meticulously organised the route, food, drinks, accommodation, entertainment, bikes, travel arrangements and generally put up with the fussy Europeans and Americans.
It was a real team effort, but we would like to particularly thank:
Dr Jagan – for putting together such a good team of helpers!
Dr.D.S.Siva Kumar - Main Organiser and leader of the team. In charge of event from Rajahmundry to Heal Village. Planned and executed every detail extremely well.
Dr.K.Bujji Babu – Co-organiser, very enthusiastic, organized all entertainment programmes. Cycled at the back making sure no one got lost, or was struggling. Arranged accommodation in Perupalem, lunch venue on the same day, mechanics and massage team.
Dr.V.S.Reddy – In charge of the Water points, water van, Night bar. Very dedicated and never left the vehicle. Normally a busy neurologist, who left his office for the 4 days.

The Children and trustees of Heal India
We’d like to thank the children, staff and the trustees of Heal India for putting on such a fantastic show and welcome at the Heal Children’s Village.
We’re sure the children had as much fun as the Cycle India participants, and I’m sure we will all remember our time at the Children’s Village forever!
Uma Koneru – thank you for designing and producing the invitations and signs for Cycle India in Guntur.
The team in Hyderabad
Our arrangements upon arrival and departure from Hyderabad were ably managed by Dr Prasad’s sister Laxmi and Bhaskar Tatineni, and Chinna. We were well looked after at the Yatri Nivas hotel, and thank you for organising our travel to and from the airport, and the coach journey to Bhadrachalam.

Bhavani (Dr Jagan’s sister) - Thank you for organising the wonderful welcoming committee in Bhadrachalam with all the cultural dancing and martial arts show. We also very much enjoyed our visit to the school you run in Bhadrachalam, and can see all the hard work you and your team have put in.
Nayadamma Foundation
We would like to thank the Nayadamma Foundation for your very kind hospitality during one of our scheduled lunch breaks and the entertainment you provided. We were all very impressed with the good work you are undertaking in this part of Andhra Pradesh, and hope that we can work together on projects in the future.
