HEAL's Children's Village was officially opened on the 11th February 1999. This project near Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India, cares for more than 200 orphaned and destitute children, from ages 5 to 18.

The Children's Village is situated 15 Km from Guntur and is opposite a major rural project at Chetna, which provides both educational and recreational facilities. The Village is ideally situated for access to the local school.

The Village consists of 10 cottages, linked together in a circle. Each cottage houses 12 to 14 children, of different ages, with a House Mother to look after them. The village is situated in 3 acres of land, and is overlooked by mountain scenery.

In 2005, Heal added a boy’s dormitory to the Sri Venkataeswara Bala Kuteer School which houses up to 50 teenage boys.  The addition of the boy's dormitory has increased the capacity of the Heal Children's Village, so we have been able to take in more younger children.

The grounds of the village and school are carefully looked after and maintained to create a wonderful location for children to grow up, be educated and lead happy, healthy childhoods.

We would like to say a special thank you to all the supporters who sponsor children and also supporters who give regular payments (where no child is sponsored). Without these Heal would not be able to care for these unfortunate children.
